boiler upgrade scheme

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is part of the UK Governments plan to encourage the uptake of renewable heating systems such as air source heat pumps.  The Governments ambition is to install 600,000 air source heat pumps by 2028.  This is a huge target, so to help with the uptake of this expensive renewable heating system, they are incentivising homeowners, landlords and small businesses.  The BUS scheme will contribute £7,500 towards the cost of a new air source heat pump or ground source heat pump installation.  This drastically reduces the cost and means that even with finance to pay for the remainder of the cost, this is still a great idea and will pay for itself over the lifetime of the system.

The BUS grant can also pay £5,000 towards the cost of a biomass boiler.

To qualify for the funding, your property must currently be heated by either a gas boiler or electrically heated (heating provided by a fossil fuel)

As part of our technical survey, we size the air source heat pump to suit your property and use the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) approved calculations which will show you what your expected energy usage will be, and the payback period as a result of this.  Whist these calculations are estimated, we pride ourselves on erring on the side of caution to give you worst case figures, making your realistic bills even better than you expected.

To apply for the Boiler Upgrade scheme, you must have received a quote from an MCS approved, and BUS registered installer.  We at Total Carbon Savings Ltd are registered for the BUS scheme and can provide this quote for you.  The application is made by the installer which you choose to go with.  Then the process goes as follows:
